pileus | 41 mm wide, yellow to brownish yellow over disc, thence white to margin, planar, without notable umbo, subviscid, shiny; context ??; margin striate (0.4-0.45R), nonappendiculate; universal veil as small membranous patches, white, detersile. | ||||||||
lamellae | ??, lacking decurrent line on upper stipe, crowded, cream in mass, ?? in side view; lamellulae truncate to subtruncate, unevenly distributed, of diverse lengths, plentiful. | ||||||||
stipe | 98 × 8 mm, off-white, staining pinkish brown in age, narrowing upward, flaring at apexi, subfloccose, fibrillose, longitudinally striatulate; context cream, unchanging, hollow, with central cylinder 2.5 mm wide; partial veil superior, small, membranous, persistent, white, faintly striate above, smooth below; universal veil saccate, 30 × 18 mm, membranous, sturdy, exterior smooth, white on both surfaces except for some yellow tint on lower part of inner surface, attached only to stipe base (which is rather broad for a species of the “A. hemibapha group”). | ||||||||

The following diagram provides sporograph comparisons of the present species with A. cokeriana (a poorly known species) and A. murrilliana, a species known to occur in the Gulf Coast/east Texas region. Since the single specimen known to us was considered to be beyond maturity at the time it was collected and dried, it is possible that it represents such a specimen of A. cokeriana, which is at present known to us only from the protolog despite searches for type material in FH and FLAS. Singer did not provide the place of deposit of his type material for cokeriana. | ||||||||
