This species is known from a dried specimen. In
that state, the small basidiome is suggestive of
Amanita pseudovolvata.

The small dried fruiting body is reminiscent of that of
Amanita pseudovolvata of northeastern
North America. Closest genetic match has 4.1% Gen.
distance (A. whetstoneae).
The present taxon is genetically distinct from
all species of
section Amidella with signatures deposited in
GenBank or in the genetic sequence collection of this
site.
