The brown cap of Amanita oakmanensis exhibits a
pale band inside the marginal striations.
The species is known from a single collection made
under Hickory (Carya) and Oak (Quercus)
in the U.S. state of Georgia. The nrLSU sequence
derived from Amanita oakmanensis has an initial
terminal string of the penentratrix
